Plan Year 2018 DEADLINE NOTICE

WEEKLY DEADLINE FOR CLAIM PROCESSING IS FRIDAY AT 1PM FOR PAYMENT BY THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY!

2018 Plan Year services must be received during the plan year January 1, 2018 through March 15, 2019.  Claims must be U.S. Postmarked or physically received by March 31, 2019​.

According to IRS Use-It-or-Lose-It Rule, any funds unused at the end of the Plan Year will be forfeited (90 days after the Plan Year end). ​​

If you drop the FSA account you are no longer an active participant. Any qualified services you received must have occurred during the time you where an active participant. Therefore, your date of services must be prior to the end of the month of your last participated payroll withholding.

No Longer Employed by the State

If you TERMINATE your employment with the State any Dependent Care or Health Care services must be incurred prior to the last day of your termination month.

If you were enrolled in a FSA while you were an active employee working for the State, once you have left the State, retired, RIF, separated, or terminated, and are no longer an active employee, then your FSA account will be closed on the last day of the month of separation/termination. If you had the debit card, the card will be turned off as well.  However, you may still file a manual (paper) reimbursement claim for services received during the months you had coverage.

If you choose to take the medical spending account into COBRA, then your eligibility can be continued.  Otherwise all claims for services after the end of the month of coverage will be denied and any unused funds are subject to forfeiture pursuit to the rules set up by the IRS under Section 125 plans.  For more detailed information please see our plan guide.
